13: The Misleading Illusion of Perfect

We all strive for perfection, but often times we do not step back and realize that perfection is just an illusion. We can easily lose sight of our goals by getting caught up in the end results, completely overlooking the small progress we put in day by day. When we put the expectations upon ourselves to be perfect, or achieve perfect, we often times won’t achieve anything at all.

It’s time to move forward in your life and take notice of the things you want to get done, as well as the things you are getting done. While you will encounter obstacles, haters, and people rooting for you to lose, you can absolutely achieve your goals when you put your mind to it. Don’t let fear hold you back or stop you from doing what you absolutely want to do!

If you align your goals with the world of perfection you are going to disappoint yourself over and over again.

The Cliff Notes:

  • People’s weight can be a depiction of what is happening in their head.
  • When you’re in love with yourself and your life, you treat yourself very differently.
  • Focus on “the game” or the tasks at hand, rather than the end results.
  • As soon as you become aware of the (negative) voice inside yourself, you’ve already won the game.
  • On an average day, humans run through 60,000 thoughts!
  • 95% of those 60,000 thoughts, are the same ones you thought the day before.
  • If you eat poorly for one meal, it’s much easier to continue eating poorly for others.
  • Stick to your goals!
  • Be able to recognize when you go against your goals.
  • Do not let others take from your “energy container.” We only have so much energy to spare!
  • Be accountable.
  • We’ve been programmed from a young age not to share what we are up to.
  • If you want to make things happen, and make it happen fast, SHARE IT!
  • Haters only hate on you because they wish they could do the things you are doing, for themselves.
  • Be vigilant.
  • Anxiety is worse than the actuality of the situation.
  • Anxiety can create unwanted events to occur.
  • When you control your thoughts, you control your mind.
  • Once you reach the state of being in total control of your life, you reach your destiny.

The ones who fan the flames of their human potential, do vastly different things than those who lead ordinary lives.
